Types of Cyberbullying
Cyberstalking: Repeatedly sending electronic messages that include threat of harm or that are highly intimidating. The recipient is afraid for his or her safety.
Denigration: Denigration is defined as “dissing” someone online. "Dissing" is the sending or posting cruel gossip about a person to damage his or her reputation or friendships. This can be seen as an online rumor mill.
Exclusion: Intentionally excluding someone from an online group.
Flaming: Electronic "fights" that using angry and vulgar language.
Harassment: Repeatedly sending rude, abusive, offensive and/or insulting messages.
Impersonation: Breaking into someone’s account and sending emails or texts pretending to be the account-holder. The impersonator poses as the person and send message to make that person look bad or to get the person in trouble or danger. The impersonator may seek to damage the person's reputation or friendships.
Outing: Outing is the intentional sharing of someone’s secrets or embarrassing information online.
